The 126 yard, 9th hole

Friday 16th May 2008
It is my pleasure as Club Captain to welcome and thank you for your interest in Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club.

Our Club celebrated its centenary in 2000 and we are proud of our history and traditions. With the majority of the course constructed on well draining heathland we are fortunate to enjoy the full course all year round. The course at just over 6000 yards is renowned for its beauty and presents a fair challenge to golfers of all abilities. The 5th and 13th holes are two of the best you will enjoy in the south of England.

We consider ourselves to be a progressive club. Our spacious clubhouse was completed in 1992 and more recently new greensheds have been constructed.

We have a rolling programme of course development. The recent purchase of adjoining land will enable us to extract water for our upgraded irrigation system, and the construction and renovation of several tees has enhanced the quality of the course.

All aspects of the club are under constant review to ensure that members benefit from their subscriptions.

We hope that you enjoy the facilities on offer here at Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club and if you have any questions not covered through this web site please contact our Secretary/Manager who will be pleased to assist you further.

On a personal note, I hope to have the opportunity of meeting you either on the course or in the clubhouse in the not too distant future.
